Nicole Namy
COUNCIL MEMBER
Nicole Namy is an incoming Trustee Distinguished Scholar at Rice University, where she plans to study Neuroscience. She has served on the Hope Squad, a peer-to-peer suicide prevention organization, for seven years. In 2024, she was selected to represent Texas on the Hope Squad National Council, where she served as a student advocate to help shape the program and provide student perspectives. During her time on the National Council, Nicole was also selected to participate as a High School Peer in the Teen RISE Study at UT Southwestern, where she supports community-based recovery efforts for teenagers. In addition to her commitment to community-based approaches to mental health, Nicole has a strong interest in the neurophysiological foundations of mental illness, which led her to publish her first paper in the National High School Journal of Science in 2024. Outside of academics, she enjoys working out, cheerleading, learning to play instruments, and volunteering.
